Notice of Public Hearing: Quincy Public Schools FY2019 Budget

Consistent with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 71, Section 38N, the Quincy School Committee will hold a Public Hearing on its proposed FY2019 Budget on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Coddington Building.

All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard, subject to the terms of the Quincy School Committee Open Forum policy:

Open Forum: An opportunity for community input regarding the Quincy Public Schools. Community in this context is defined as a resident of the City of Quincy, a parent of a student who attends the Quincy Public Schools, or an employee of the Quincy Public Schools. Non-community persons not permitted to speak at Open Forum may submit written statements to the School Committee. After giving his or her name and address, each speaker may make a presentation of no more than four minutes to the School Committee. An individual may not exchange their time or yield to others.

Public Hearing

A Public Hearing on the FY2019 Budget was held by the Quincy School Committee on May 30, 2018 at 6:40 pm at the Coddington Building. School Committee Clerk Laura Owens called the roll and present were Mayor Thomas P. Koch, Mr. Anthony Andronico, Mr. Paul Bregoli, Mr. Douglas Gutro, Mrs. Kathryn Hubley, and Mrs. Emily Lebo, Vice Chair.

Also present were: Ms. Laura Owens, Clerk; Ms. Allison Cox, Quincy Education Association President, and Mr. Scott Alessandro, Citywide Parent Council CoPresident.

School Committee member Mr. James DeAmicis was absent. Superintendent Richard DeCristofaro, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Mulvey, and Director of Business James Mullaney were at the City Council Budget Subcommittee meeting.

Public Hearing

The Quincy School Committee held a public hearing on the FY2019 Budget. All interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard.

As no one wished to be heard, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:42 p.m.

Adjournment

On a motion by Mr. Andronico, seconded by Mrs. Hubley, the Public Hearing was adjourned at 6:43 p.m. On a voice vote, the ayes have it.
