January 11 Letter from Superintendent Mulvey

January 11 Letter from Superintendent Mulvey/High School Hockey
Posted on 01/12/2021

Dear Quincy and North Quincy High School Hockey Team Parents,

After further consultation with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, I have been advised that since there was no known positive COVID-19 case among the players at the Saturday, January 9 North Quincy vs. Quincy Boys Hockey game, students do not need to quarantine for ten days.  Students may return school beginning Tuesday, January 12 for the Hybrid A and In-Person learning cohorts or Thursday, January 14 for the Hybrid B cohort.

It is still recommended that you seek COVID-19 testing due to potential exposure.  COVID-19 testing is available through Manet Community Health Center on Tuesday afternoons from noon to 4:00 pm at 180 Old Colony Avenue.  (https://www.manetchc.org/coronavirus-updates/)  As always, please monitor students for COVID-19 symptoms, keep them home from school if symptoms develop, and consult with your family’s health care provider.

I am continuing to work with the high school principals, Athletic Directors, and coaching staff to develop further COVID-19 safety protocols and so at this time, the Varsity Hockey program hiatus will continue.

Kevin W. Mulvey, J.D.
