Dear Quincy Public Schools Students, Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
This past week, many of our schools held Back to School Open House events. Thanks to our
principals, assistant principals, teachers, student support staff, paraprofessionals, office staff,
custodians, and everyone who collaborated on welcoming students and their families in person. It
was wonderful to hear the positive comments from families who appreciated seeing the classrooms
and meeting the teachers in person.
This past week was also the first full week of the Quincy Public Schools COVID-19 Pooled Testing at
all school sites. Just under 1,200 staff members and students were tested over four days, Monday
through Thursday, with the results reported the next day. To enroll in COVID-19 Pooled Testing,
please follow this link: https://www.cic-health.com/consent/ma?district=null. New signups
received by Thursday at noon will be tested in the following week’s pool. For example, a student or
staff member who completes a consent form today will be tested beginning the week of October 4.
For daily updates on COVID-19 cases and testing data, please follow this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rJxgeMCnioX4MJvLN-C_tcoaJN4CEDNv3lDuzbjk6_k/edit#gid=995119689.
Another positive for the new school year is that high school athletic competitions are open to
spectators. Good luck to our high school football teams who are on the road tonight playing at
Abington (North Quincy) and Westwood (Quincy), both at 7:00 pm. North Quincy vs.
Quincy Soccer will take over Veterans Stadium on Saturday, September 25 with Girls Varsity at
5:00 pm, followed by Boys Varsity at 7:00 pm. Quincy vs. North Quincy Girls Volleyball will be
Monday, September 27 at 5:30 pm in the Quincy High School Gymnasium.
We hope you enjoy the beautiful fall weather with your families.
Sincerely,
Kevin W. Mulvey, Superintendent of Schools
Erin Perkins, Assistant Superintendent
