Dear Quincy Public Schools Staff, Students, Parents, and Guardians

I am writing today to update you on COVID-19 guidance released today by Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker and the impact on our schools.  With the positive news that the requirement for face coverings and capacity is being relaxed for many public and business settings, there is no change in the requirements for schools at this time.  All students and staff will continue to wear face coverings indoors.

Beginning tomorrow, May 18, students will no longer be required to wear masks during outdoor activities.  Staff members are not required to wear masks outdoors if social distancing can be maintained.

For high school Athletics, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Board of Directors will be meeting to discuss the guidelines for face coverings during athletic practices and games.  We will share additional information with families as soon as it is available.

As always, thank you for your support and patience throughout this school year.

Sincerely,

Kevin W. Mulvey, J.D.

Superintendent of Schools
