Dear Quincy Public Schools Students, Parents, Guardians and Staff,

We appreciate your patience and understanding as the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education has recently made updates to the recommendations for COVID-19 testing in Massachusetts schools based on the data gathered this fall. Under the new testing plan, students and staff can test for COVID-19:

  • twice per week (once in school and once at home) OR
  • once per week in school OR
  • once per week at home.

At-Home COVID-19 Testing  All Quincy Public Schools staff and students are eligible to receive FREE COVID-19 test kits to be administered at home weekly.  Follow this link to sign up to receive these home test kits:  https://forms.gle/ets8kbBVBppxhwC58

  • Staff members will receive their first test kits by Friday, January 28 and students will receive their first test kits by Friday, February 4.
  •  Staff or students who are part of in-school pooled testing should test three days after the pooled testing day.  (For example, if your pooled testing day is Monday, your home testing day should be Thursday.)  Staff members or students who are NOT enrolled in pooled testing may test any day of the week that is convenient for them.
  • Positive COVID-19 test results should be reported to your school nurse and isolation and quarantine guidelines followed.  Negative results should not be reported to your school.
  •  If you have tested positive for COVID-19 since November 1, 2021, please do not opt in to receive home tests until 90 days after your positive test date.

In School Weekly Pooled Testing  If you are not enrolled in pooled testing and wish to sign up, please follow this link:  https://www.cic-health.com/consent/ma?district=null  Pooled testing is a PCR test with a higher rate of accuracy in detecting the COVID-19 virus.

Discontinuing Test & Stay  The Test & Stay  program is being discontinued at all Quincy Public Schools sites as of Monday, January 31.

Contact Tracing  Also as of January 31, Quincy Public Schools will no longer be completing the         individual case contact tracing and notification that went along with the Test & Stay program.  We will continue to monitor positive case trends and notify families when there is a pattern of cases in a         classroom or grade level.
