CUSTODIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
Quincy Public Schools Custodial Services Department is the largest non-academic
unit within the district. Custodial Services currently works under the direction of the
Coordinator of Custodial Services and building Principals. In order to realize our
vision of maintaining an attractive, clean, safe and orderly facility, our mission must be
to exceed the expectations of our customer who we define as students, parents,
guests, teachers, staff, administration and fellow employees. We will accomplish this
by committing to shared values and by achieving the highest level of customer
satisfaction with an extraordinary emphasis on the creation of partnerships and
teamwork. In this way we will ensure that our facilities are clean and maintained to
our customer’s expectations. Our facilities shall provide and maintain a focused
environment conducive to teaching and learning. We will provide a workable, safe
place for people to improve and enhance life skills.
CUSTODIAL SERVICES TEAM LEADER’S MESSAGE
As Coordinator of the Quincy Public Schools Custodial Services Team, I am proud to be the leader of the largest non-academic unit in the district. Over the last 20 years we have accomplished so much, including improving accountability, communication, and professionalism. I am very proud of the QPS Custodial Team; they work extremely hard all year round, but especially during the vacations and summer months cleaning, moving furniture, stripping and waxing floors. From September to June, they continue maintaining their buildings daily. Random cleaning inspections are performed regularly at each site.
In addition, to the custodial staff, I have the responsibility of coordinating building rentals and the purchasing of custodial cleaning supplies for each municipal building for the City of Quincy. I also serve as chair of the Plant Maintenance Team, which meets twice per month with representatives from the City of Quincy Public Buildings Department.
