SENIORS:

Scholarships Now Posted!

  • During the week of January 7th, counselors will give a presentation to our seniors on how to access scholarships.
  • Scholarship season has started and we already have over 20 scholarships posted. All scholarships (and applications) will be listed electronically on Naviance as they are posted. Please see attached flyer on how to access these scholarships.
  • The LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP FORM is now available on Naviance. ALL Seniors should complete this short form! Application must be submitted on Naviance by FEBRUARY 15th.

  • Seniors should make sure that their e-mail is updated in their Naviance account (click on “About Me” tab and then click “Profile”) and that they have signed up for the Remind App (text @quincy2019 to 81010 to register). As scholarships are posted, we e-mail and text information on a regular basis.

On-The-Spot Admissions

  • Did you know that a select number of colleges visit Quincy High School and provide students with the opportunity to meet 1:1 with the college admission counselor and receive a decision “On-The-Spot”? Below are upcoming dates/deadlines.

  Bay State Community College:  OTS meeting 1/15: Inform counselor by 1/11

  Fisher College: OTS meeting 1/17: Inform counselor by 1/15

  Ben Franklin Institute of Technology: OTS meeting 1/22: Inform counselor by 1/18

Senior Meetings

  • Counselors are continuing to meet with seniors in regard to their post-secondary plans. Students who are applying to any college/university must meet with their counselor prior to applying to ensure all materials are sent by the appropriate deadlines. Students who are applying Regular Decision should schedule an appointment with their counselor before applying.

College/Work/Military Acceptances

  • Have you already received an acceptance to college, an acceptance to a Union, or enlisted in the Military? Congratulations! Please make sure you update your Naviance account with all of your acceptances to college (Click on the “Colleges” tab and then “Colleges I’m Applying To”. You will then be able to click “Edit” and choose “Accepted”). We are about to start updating our Acceptance Bulletin Board outside of the Guidance Office and would like to make sure that we have all accomplishments posted. If you have enlisted in the Military, received an acceptance to the Union, etc., please share the news with your counselor!

Financial Aid

  • All students who are applying to college will need to also complete the FAFSA if applying for financial aid. Students should also check with individual schools to see if a CSS Profile is also required.
  • Please click HERE to review 8 Steps to Filling out the FAFSA. This information is helpful for any students starting the college application process.
  • If you need assistance completing the FAFSA, Quincy College will help you for FREE! Tuesdays afternoons from 1:30-3:30 in Room 503 (@1250 Hancock Street). Please have 2017 tax information with you and bring your FSA username and password (for you and your parent).
