Quincy Community Page

Welcome to Quincy Public Schools

Quincy Public Schools are a welcoming, diverse place to learn. Our district has 12 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 2 high schools educating nearly 9000 students. With such a large population of students, we have a wide range of skills, needs and courses.

We are diverse

Our students come from all over the world, speaking nearly 32 dialects of different world languages. To meet the needs of our students, we offer specialized programs to help our students become proficient English-speakers. Our language programs have been recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Education for their excellence in preparing students to meet the needs of classroom learning.

We celebrate differences

Regardless of where a student comes from, once they are part of Quincy Public Schools, they are part of our family. Our schools teach tolerance for different cultures and lifestyles. Our students learn by example in the classroom, the school, enrichment programs and special events.

We value community

We also know that it really does "take a village" to raise and educate a child.

We have a dedicated and active School Committee who provides diligent oversight and brings great ideas to our schools. They come from many backgrounds, bring a wealth of experience and knowledge and provide countless hours of dedicated service. Visit our School Committee page and learn more including how to speak with your elected members.

We also have many community and business partners who devote precious hours and resources to making our schools the very best and providing outstanding learning experiences for our students. They provide mentors in our classrooms, jobs for students who want to explore careers in their industry, volunteer teams for events, sponsorships and more. Visit our Community Partners page and learn how they contribute.

We are recognized for academic excellence

At both the state and national level, Quincy Public Schools are consistently recognized for excellence in education and innovation. Whether it's preparing high school students for college or work or teaching our youngest students to read, we have a wide range of truly excellent educators to meet the needs of our learners. Our MCAS and English as a Second Language programs are consistently recognized for their outstanding results. What that means is that our students are ready to take on the challenges of being contributing citizens in our global world.
