Due to a fire near the Wollaston MBTA station, Newport Avenue is closed from Furnace Brook Parkway north to Hobart Street.  This road closure will impact traffic in and around this neighborhood of Quincy, so please be aware and allow for extra time around dismissal at Wollaston Elementary School and Central Middle School today.  Bernazzani, Montclair, and Parker Elementary Schools, Atlantic Middle School, and North Quincy High School may also be impacted by this road closure.

All Quincy Public Schools will be open on a regular schedule for Tuesday, March 5. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 are scheduled for an early release day and high school students will have a full day.

Thanks to the City of Quincy’s Department of Public Works and Parks Department and our Quincy Public Schools custodians, school parking lots and sidewalks around all school buildings have been cleared.  While weather conditions were favorable today for snow removal and treatment of paved surfaces, please use caution traveling to school on Tuesday morning as the temperature will be below freezing overnight Monday.
