All Quincy Public Schools will be closed through Tuesday, January 1. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 2.
QPS Administrative offices at 34 Coddington Street will be open Wednesday, December 26 through Friday, December 28 and on Monday, December 31. Please call the Superintendent’s office at 617-984-8701 for assistance during the holiday week.
There is currently an issue with Quincy Public Schools email communications to parent/guardian emails ending in: msn.com, hotmail.com, aol.com, live.com, and outlook.com. For the last few weeks, the server for these email systems are seeing “@quincypublicschools.com” as SPAM and rejecting our incoming emails. City IT has requested several times for this restriction to be lifted, but there is still a block in place.
If you have one of these an email addresses, please contact your students’ schools to provide an alternate email address if possible.
All students and staff were dismissed from North Quincy High School today at around 10:30 am as a precautionary measure after an expended micro-smoke device was found in the Media Center. The device was not expended in school. After the building was evacuated, Quincy Police Department K-9 units and Quincy Public Schools administrators performed an exhaustive sweep of the building. This sweep uncovered no more devices and the building is safe to reopen on the regular schedule for Tuesday, December 11. Please note that this is a previously scheduled early release day for students, with dismissal at 12:35 pm.
