Earlier today, there was a bus accident at the intersection of South Street and the Southern Artery involving a Quincy Public Schools mini-bus with three Pre-Kindergarten student passengers and their driver. The three students and the bus driver were sent to area hospitals and thankfully, all been discharged. The details of the accident are under investigation at this time. We are grateful for the immediate, professional response of the Quincy Police and Fire Departments, Brewster Ambulance, and Director of Transportation Michael Draicchio and his staff.

Congratulations are in order for NQHS senior Quynh Vu, who has been awarded a National Medal in this year’s Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Well over 300,000 works were submitted this year and about nineteen thousand of those received “Gold Keys.” “Gold Key” status involved display at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts last month.
Of the 19,000 Gold Keys, only one percent has been honored at the next level, the National Medal, making Quynh’s achievement quite remarkable. Congratulations to Quynh and NQHS Photography teacher Mike Hanson.
