QPS Bus Drivers & Monitors

Quincy Public Schools is looking to fill open positions for Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors. 

Bus Drivers are required by the Registry of Motor Vehicles to have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) plus Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements.  Quincy Public Schools can assist with training for the bus driver endorsement, so having a CDL is preferred.

Bus Monitors for Students must always be keenly aware of student safety on and off the bus and must be diligent in their care of students they are supervising.  Bus monitor must have a positive attitude towards working with both general education and special education students.  CPR certification is preferred, but not required.

Topics will include:  the college application process; SAT requirements; and financial aid/scholarships.

Ms. Pekarcik’s Antarctic Adventure

ecw-gearNorth Quincy High School Biology, Zoology, and Marine Science Teacher Cara Pekarcik is underway on her six-week research expedition in the Southern Ocean off the coast of Antarctica.  Ms. Pekarcik is part of PolarTREC, an educational research experience onboard the research icebreaker Nathan B. Palmer.  Ms. Pekarcik’s group is studying diatom, a type of algae.
