At the June 3, 2015 Massachusetts School Building Authority Board Meeting, two Quincy Public Schools projects were invited into the Accelerated Repair Program: Beechwood Knoll (windows, doors, roof) and Merrymount (roof). After being assigned an Owner’s Project Manager, the design and estimate phases should begin in Fall 2015 with a planned project completion of August 2016.
The Accelerated Repair Projects for replacement windows and doors at Merrymount, Wollaston, Lincoln Hancock, Parker, and North Quincy are all projected for Summer 2015 completion. All windows and doors have been ordered and work will begin on June 29 and continue through July and August.
For the Sterling Middle School project, the Owner’s Project Manager, Joslin, Lesser Associates was hired at the end of March and at the May 19 MSBA Designer Selection Panel meeting, Ai3 Architects were selected to be the Designers. (Ai3 was also the designer for Central Middle School.) Both Joslin, Lesser and Ai3 will present at the June 10 School Committee Meeting on their plans to move the project into the Feasibility Study phase.
