First observed in 1921, American Education Week presents the community with the opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. One of the ways that Quincy Public Schools celebrates American Education Week is to sponsor an annual poster/essay contest for Kindergarten through Grade 10 students. Posters and essays are reviewed by a panel of retired Quincy Public Schools teachers and the top three for each grade are invited to attend the December School Committee meeting, where they are recognized for their achievements. The topic for this year’s contest is “The Importance of Teamwork in Education.”
Quincy Public Schools is proud of the over 1,400 professional and support staff members who make a difference every day for our students and families.
