District, school, and individual student achievement reports for the Spring 2014 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) tests for English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science have been released by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The MCAS ELA and Mathematics tests are administered to students in Grades 3 through 8 and Grade 10; the Science test is administered to Grades 5, 8, and 10.
Spring 2014 MCAS tests were fully focused on the Common Core State Standards. At the time of test administration, our students were completing their second year of instruction under these standards. Last June, the Quincy School Committee unanimously voted to accept Superintendent DeCristofaro’s recommendation to administer the MCAS assessments in Spring 2015.
Individual student reports were mailed to families on Wednesday, October 1. Additional information about district and school achievement, proficiency, and growth can be found on the DESE website.
