That’s right, we are LIVE!!!  After months of collaborative planning and preparation, Quincy Public Schools Information Technology Team is pleased to announce the successful implementation and transition to Aspen ~ our new Student Information System.

Having completed three important implementation phases, Data Conversion/Validations, Configurations, and Customizations ~ Phase Four: Training concludes a significant component of the Aspen Implementation Process.  QPS Professional Staff training began the week of August 5, when 8 staff members participated in a 15 hour Aspen Master Training Program to become facilitators of the QPS “teachers teaching teachers initiative.”  QPS IT would like to recognize and thank them for their participation in the Aspen Implementation and the district wide professional staff training.

We are pleased to announce the completed training of 425 middle and high professional staff members, of which 225 took advantage of optional training on a volunteer basis during the week of August 26-29.  We appreciate that 52% participated in the Aspen Fundamentals, Attendance, and Gradebook Training prior to the pressure of the new school year to help insure a smooth transition.  We would like to acknowledge their commitment to Quincy Public Schools.

Other teams and QPS support staff 190 have also been successful trained, including, Principals, Assistant Principals, Guidance, Deans, Nurses, Secretaries, and Office Paraprofessionals. Training included Fundamentals, Attendance, Gradebook, Single Student Scheduling and Conduct Management, modules appropriate to the training audience.

In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll continue Aspen implementation and share additional communication of the various other Aspen modules consisting of Elementary Attendance, Student/Parent Portal, Curriculum & Learning, and Special Education.

This implementation process required the collaboration of multiple personnel from principals to professional staff to secretaries to aides.  This project could not have been accomplished without each and everyone of you ~ WE THANK YOU!!!
